Some users run rsync on the same data that is being synced by SpiderOak ONE or Groups. We do not recommend this. Rsync is a great tool, but one of the things that make it great is its many options, some of which alter timestamps. SpiderOak uses timestamps to determine which version of a file is newer and whether or not the file has been deleted on one of your devices. Altering the timestamps runs the risk of causing SpiderOak to overwrite the current version of a file with an older one, or to determine that you must have deleted that file on one device and have that deletion sync to your other devices. Our advice is to either use SpiderOak's sync or rsync, but not both on the same data.
